About Tom Buchanan
I have been photographing things for nearly 40 years. I was born and raised in Vancouver and worked in the industrial electronics industry and communications including broadcasting throughout British Columbia, Alberta, Wisconsin and California. I also spent many years traveling the world in the Canadian Navy.
In 2002 I retired from a very busy corporate life and decided to take up the business of photography. I developed a successful photographic business in the Vancouver area where I displayed and sold my work and served the arts community with high quality slides of other artists paintings for submission purposes. I also delved into commercial, portrait, fine art and restoration photography.
My wife Maggie and I decided to seek a less stressful lifestyle by moving to southern Alberta once again. We live in Coaldale Alberta, about 12 Km east of Lethbridge. From my studio in Lethbridge we serve the southern Alberta and south eastern British Columbia community with the highest quality photographic products we can produce.
You'll find me out and about in the Lethbridge area. Often you’ll see me photographing events or the sights and people of the surrounding area. I also teach photographic techniques and offer many courses and workshops throughout Southern Alberta. I love to teach and feel this is the most fulfilling way of giving back to the community.
I've been accepted as a member of the Professional Photographers of Canada and the Professional Photographers of America.
Feel free to give me a call or write at any time I love talking photography and enjoy a good conversation. Come down to the studio some time.
